Hi everyone.
We have just had a fun filled week focusing on the colour pink.
I tried to wear something pink each day this week and discovered it's a colour I don't wear very much.
The children found lots of pink things in our room and when we were out and about, however.
Today we made strawberry balls and muffins.
We tend to do a lot of cooking in this room as you may have gathered by now.
Cooking is an activity that provides opportunities to teach many skills at once as well as the obvious life skill of being able to cook food.
We practise counting, measuring, comparing, safety with equipment, taking turns, we learn there is a sequence involved and the language of procedures, we label and describe foods and ingredients, touch, listen, taste and smell foods.
Using our senses heightens our awareness of our world. Hence we cook several times per week.

Purple Achievements
This week we also had some exciting moments with James and TeyNeisha demonstrating great progress at swimming lessons.
James has also excelled at using his speech. We love it when James uses his words to ask for something.
Jo is away at present so we are all missing her and thinking of her especially today.
See you next week, Jo

Next week we will be looking at birds and all their different colours.

You might like a sneak preview of some of the web sites we will be exploring. Check the links under animals and birds.

Don't forget to leave us a comment.

We love to hear from our families and friends.
