This past week we enjoyed reading the story, "The Cake that Mack ate".
The children seem to love stories about characters who do something funny and not quite right.
Mack is a very appealing looking Golden Labrador and looks quite amusing with the remains of the farmer's birthday cake all over him.
The story has repetitive text and is a great one for sequencing, which we did orally and with pictures. We also searched the illustrations for yellow objects ( yellow being the colour of the week) and found nearly all the key objects or characters in the story were in fact yellow!
Concluding the week's activities saw us making cup cakes and hoping Mack didn't find us and eat our cakes before we could!!!!
