This week are we exploring the colour green.
we will learn how to make green from yellow and blue, and also how to make different shades of green.
In Mathematics we will sort, group and match green, as well as our previous colours, red, blue and yellow.
Our focus story will be The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle.
This story will enable us to practise reading our compic symobls for the days of the week, and thanks to Sue we now know the song about the days of the week really well.
We will participate in lots of literacy activities based on the story, sequencing, matching key words to pictures and practise our sight words " Look at the little caterpillar, look at the big caterpillar" and "I see the strawberry" etc
We have been using Sue's blog and accessing the draw program, the Colours powerpoint and other sites to learn more about colours.
One of our speech activities will be practise our goals by playing a game based on colours and clothing. The children will spin the colour wheel, choose a card with clothing illustrated on it and then ask for the appropriate item such as "Red shirt, please."
