Greetings to everyone,
How time has flown. I have been very busy with my Autism studies and as you can tell have not spent much time on the blog.
So much has happened since May.
Connor is now standing unaided for increasing lengths of time.
William is more consistently using words to make requests. Jack, our very thoughtful young man, anticipates when someone needs something and is there in a flash.
Daniel has been working hard on developing his reading comprehension whilst Drew has matured immensely and is working on tub tasks independently.
Marshall organises us and helps me remember things I need to run a lesson, Ethan is pretty good at this too. He remembers where things are which can be mighty useful at times.
Blade keeps us on our toes and reminds us frequently of the important things in life- trampoline for example and of course, making toast. Arigon comes to visit occasionally whilst Camron knows exactly what day it is and what happens each session. He now uses so many more words and enjoys playing with his friends.
Overall we have a very happy classroom.
This term our theme is Needs and Wants. Our main focus will be on recognising how to make requests appropriately. This may involve using our words, using a sentence phrase card as a reminder of what to say, putting our hand up and waiting our turn to talk or bringing a cue card to an adult to make a request known.
We plan to investigate foods, sort, group and label them and more importantly- cook and taste them. Yummy!!!
We may even be able to participate in some gym sessions.
Lots or fun and many new things to learn lie ahead of us.
We'll keep you posted.
Jill
