Hi Everyone
We hope you are all well. The Swine flu has reached our corner of the world but so far none of our families have come in contact with the bug, as far as we know.
Never the less we have had a lot of illness going around and the suggested ways of reducing infection that we are seeing advertised on the TV are a timely reminder.
Teach children to sneeze into their arm or inner elbow, have everyone wash hands frequently and thoroughly, wipe down door handles, computer keyboards, phones and other surfaces that everyone touches on a frequent basis, stay home if unwell to avoid passing the infection on to others.
If everyone followed these simple rules we could greatly reduce the spread of many common infections.
This week we are reading Mr McGee goes to Sea, by Pamela Allen.
Mr McGee has an idea that it might rain. What gave him this idea???? Could he have guessed what was to happen next???
The children are enjoying the rhyme of this story and we have had great fun painting and drawing all about Mr McGee's adventures.
Pamela Allen stories are wonderful for reading aloud to young children.
Her texts are full of rhyme, repetition and always have a funny event which is so engaging to young and old readers alike.
Let us know your favourite Pamela Allen story.

Hi Room 14,
I love 'The Potato People'.We made our own potato people last year and buried them in the garden so that they would grow into more potatoes. it was great fun!
