Greetings to all our parents, carers, family and friends,
Week 1 has been filled with activity and adventure! The children are really keen to talk about themselves and love looking at photos of themselves that we have taken over the course of term1.
We have also been priviledged to view some very cute baby photos. Thank you to our parents for organising this.
Over the next six weeks we are really fortunate to be able to offer a parenting program entitled Tuning into Kids, run by Luke Ahrens. The program focuses on helping children to learn to understand and regulate their emotions. Parents will gain ideas and strategies to assist with guiding children's behaviour with appropriate limits, develop skills in their child to assist with problem solving, to recognise their emotions and respond by appropriately regulating their responses.
This will be a really valuable opportunity for parents and carers to participate in a non judgemental, supportive group.
The sessions will run on Thursday mornings, begining April 22nd between 9.15-11 am for 6 weeks. Morning tea provided.
Please check your child's diary for further details and let us know if you are able to attend.
Thank you also to the parents who have been sending holiday photos and little pieces of information that enable us to have a conversation with children about their holiday experiences.
Jack even brought in a picture time table of what he did.
Next week we begin to look at others in our classroom and will begin to extend the theme of 'who am I?' to include the idea that we are someone in connection to others.
Jill
