Hi everyone
This week in room 14 we will explore Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
We are still learning about wind, water and fire. This story will help us make the connections to how we use water and different types of heat - preparing foods, cleaning and washing up afterwards and personal hygiene routines. Each day we will discover the story through big book, animations, puppets, read to's and role play. We will explore breakfast time - what do people eat for breakfast? Cook and taste different breakfast foods each day and then finish the week off with a menu the children have created and eat a variety of breakfast foods. We will practise setting the table skills -matching items to a visual model and follow a picture schedule so that we can remember what to do next. Practise turn taking, requesting, passing foods and waiting our turn. Opportunities for practising our cleaning up routines - wash dishes, put items away, wipe table etc, not forgetting to brush our teeth and wipe our face and hands.
In Numeracy we will explore the concepts of size, graduation and quantities.
As you can see we will be very busy using all our skills across all curriculum areas.
