Hi all
We have had such a busy time in room 13 and 14 this past week.
We've had several sessions together with drama, interactive whitebaord sessions and going for walks around the school vacinity. These were quite successful so it looks like our dream of running the two classes as one, may actually become a reality!!!
Goldilocks and the Three Bears has been quite a hit. The children had great fun in costume with Jane, our drama teacher on Tuesday morning.
We made porridge, and other breakfast foods, each day and most children either ate the whole lot or at least had a taste.
We've practised our cleaning up routines and brushing our teeth after eating. Some children love water play so much they haven't realised they are actually doing jobs! So be warned, Mum and Dad, your children can wash dishes and enjoy it!!
This week is a very short week due to the Labour Day holiday today and our swim carnival on Thursday. We have decided to continue Goldilocks and the Three Bears for the remaining three days and will move on to The Three Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood, before the end of term.
Yes, it's true, not long to go to the end of term. Where has the time gone???
We have celebrated so many achievements over the past 6 weeks.
The new prep children are now well settled and happy at school. Other children who have come from different classes are now able to find their new classroom, cope with new and different routines, teachers and friends. That's quite huge. Thanks to parents and carers who put so much effort and energy into preparing their children for each school day. A good night sleep, healthy breakfast, packed lunch, fresh clothes, on time to school or to catch the bus or taxi, all contributes to a successful day at school.
When we have spare time I am showing Gail how to use our blog, so expect to see and read some great things from room 13 over the coming weeks.
Enjoy our picture trail above.
Jill
