Merry Christmas everyone!
Once again the internet glitches have prevented me from updating the blog.
I've just managed to find a moment whilst the children are eating their lunch in the room next door to send a final message for the year.
Our concert last Wednesday was a huge success by all accounts.
Our Music and Drama teachers wrote a mini musical based on the dream time story of 'How the Birds Got Their Colours'. The junior children's role was to be little blackbirds initially, resplendent in black garbage bags, black stockings and masks. They were then transformed into brightly coloured birds as the story progressed in all colours of the rainbow.
The songs Chris wrote were boppy, catchy tunes which we will be singing for a long time to come.
Jane assisted the children to be dramatic at the right moments and had a lot of fun in the process. Lots of parents commented that they were rapt with the show, so all in all, a job well done.
The class groupings are now sorted ( unless we get more enrollments between now and February!). Lauren, Braydon, TeyNeisha and Nicholas will be moving with Sue's group into rooms 4 and 5, although the class blog will still be room 13 - too hard to change blog names apparently!!! We have 6 new little ones coming into room 13 and 14, with some older children from Trish's class, as well as Joshua, Murray and James.
It will be great to have the juniors all in close proximity of each other for a change. This will enable us to do some team teaching across the four classes, which will be a fantastic opporutnity for children and staff! Jamie is working on getting ramps built to facilitate transfers to playground areas before the start of school next year and the Rotary Club will build new sandpits and seating for us as well.
We have a wonderful team of volunteers who make such a difference to our school.
Thank you to everyone, parents, carers and volunteers who have helped during this year.
We are looking forward to next year and new journeys to be had.
Cheers, Jill
