As a whole school during term 4 we will be exploring the theme of Colours.
We have begun by exploring the colour red and linking this across the curriculum to teach many of the children's individual goals.
By the end of the term all children will be able to sign the colours, identify red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple. Some will also be able to recognise and correctly label black, brown, white and pink.
We have been learning the story of The Little Red Hen, focusing on key sight words 'I', 'little' red' and 'me', building on the words we worked on last term- look at the....., I see the ....'.
On Monday Jo and Daniel made red fruit and vegetable creatures with the children.
Everyone made some amazing creatures.
In maths we will learn how to conduct a simple survey and then present our findings using a bar or picture graph, practise sorting and identifying objects according to colour and use venn diagrams to sort objects using more than 1 attribute, just to mention a few.
We will participate in lots of sensory and craft activities to practise our cutting and pasting skills and to help us consolidate identify our concept of each colour.
We will participate in many more activities and will keep you posted during the course of the term.
